History of North Carolina Blue Star Mothers
North
Carolina Chapter #1 began as a group of Army Moms some 9 years ago. The group banded together long before 9/11 or Afghanistan
or Iraq. They came together through the Internet in a support group for moms with kids on active duty in the US Army.
In May, 2002, a small band of the group traveled to Washington DC, for Memorial Day weekend. While there, they met and were
welcomed by the National Officers of the Blue Star Mothers. They took us under their wings and showed us that we would make
it through this life as a Military Mom. We now have members from every branch of military service in many states. God Bless
Our Kids and Send Them Home Safe and Soon...........
North Carolina Blue Star Mothers has grown by
leaps and bounds, where just a short while ago we were down to 5 members and 1 Chapter to now over 100 members and 7 Chapters
across the state of North Carolina. Our mission is simple - we support our Children and the mission they are doing.
You may also visit our State Website at www.bluestarmothersnc.org for various Chapter Information and find a Chapter in your area.
In September 2007, five women from the Piedmont
Triad Area decided that we should have a Chapter to represent our area. We came together and now have over 17 Blue Star
Mothers & Associates in Chapter 3.
We look forward to hearing from you and if your interested in joining our
